Tried exactly as suggested by you and it fails the same way. The MTS does work ok on oracle for solaris though. Maybe it is a Linux problem.

have you tried the suggestion on 8.0.5 for linux. If so can u email me the initSID.ora to ashishp_at_uswest.net.
