Hello all,

An interesting problem to do with Terminal server and Oracle and Telnet access.

We have several terminal servers with multiple database instances. If you telnet to the server (ATAMAN v2.5) every thing works as expected. Set ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID start svrmgr23 connect / etc. etc.

When login to the GUI (Terminal Server 4.0 SP4) no matter how you set the variables you get a ORA_09532: ORACLE_(SID) has not been started.

This seems to be true for every GUI user (even with different thin clients whether Citrix or MS)

Any help is much appreciated

Cheers

Tom
