i successfully installed Oracle 8.0.5 on red hat 5.2 (well, almost) =)

all is working except for one glitch...

despite setting the environmental variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH correctly, sqlplus, svrmgrl, etc. fail to load under user 'oracle.' all other db users can load these apps fine, but when i echo $LD_LIBRARY_PATH for the 'oracle' user, i get nothing and when i call sqlplus or svrmgrl, i get the the following error message:

svrmgrl: error in loading shared libraries libcIntsh.so.1.0: cannot open shared object files: No such file or directory

this is strange becuase, like i said, it works fine for other users. <?>

has anyone encountered this or has any idea how to remedy it? thanks in advance!

cheers,
chad
