Oracle 8.1.5, AIX and trace files

At work we had Oracle 8.1.5 installed on a new AIX 4.3.2 server. The only problem the install guy reported was that Oracle kept generating trace files when archiving was enabled. So he turned archiving off and promised to get back to us after investigating this further.

So, he contacted us a couple of days later and told us that 8.1.5 was supposed to do so, so we have to "manually" delete the trace files once in a while (or create a scheduled script to do so).

Is this information correct? Are we unable to stop Oracle 8.1.5 on an AIX from generating trace files? Received on Sat Aug 21 1999 - 17:00:02 CDT
