I am trying to create a tablepace with a datafile > 1GIG by resizing it. ( ORACLE 7.3.4 with patches applied, AIX 4.3.2,IBM SP-RS6000 )When doing so I get the following error:

ERROR at line 1:

ORA-01237: cannot extend datafile 35
ORA-01110: data file 35: '/data3/report/inlarge2_1.dbf'
ORA-09972: sfsfs: unable to resize a file smaller
IBM AIX RISC System/6000 Error: 27: File too large Additional information: 183106
Additional information: 8192

I have no trouble creating a file of 1 GIG but cannot create or resize a datafile > 1 GIG. The datafile was created with maxsize unlimited and autoextend on.

Has anyone run into this problem ? Is it an Oracle or AIX limitation. Received on Sat Aug 21 1999 - 13:56:29 CDT
