Is there any way a SP call a COM component?

I know I'm hoping against hope, since almost everything I read limits external procedures to 3GLs, most likely C alone.

Any hope? If the Oracle stored procedure can't access the COM component directly, is there a way to write a C wrapper so I can take advantage of my existing DLL? (If you can't tell by now, I'm definitely not a C programmer!)
