On Nt 4.0 I've done this by using the
Oradim80 utility to first delete the Nt services associated with the instance, and then re-create the services with a new INTERNAL password. This eliiminates the need to generate an external password file with Orapwd. Deleting the services does not effect the Database structure, only the
NT services required to run it. I believe you can just type the command by itself or with a /? parameter to get the entery formats. It was somthing like Oradim80 /delete SID to deleter the services and Oradim80 /new SID intpwd=PASSWORD pfile=%ORA_HOME%\Database\initSID.ora Received on Thu Aug 19 1999 - 07:42:03 CDT
