Hi
I have an Oracle database running on Oracle 7.3.3.6 ( 64 bit) on an SGI UNIX server.
The database has approx 10GBytes data, 6GBytes indexes and 1 GByte of temporary space.
I currently have 2 disks where I have mirrored ( oracle) copies of the control file and the redo logs , a 3rd disk with the archived logs and 2 RAID 5 arrays- 1 containing the data+ temp files and the second containing the index file. The third copy of the control file is also on the 1st RAID array..

We have just bought 10* 18GBytes disks and will put these into a RAID 0+ 1 configuration. How should I partition the 5 RAID 0 disks? Should I just put the data and indexes and temp data files on the RAID array and keep the control and redo logs on the current disks, or should the redo logs also go on the RAID array along with the data, indexes etc.

Thanks for any help. Jean
