Just to add to Jonathan's note: V$BUFFER_POOL_STATISTICS is not created at database creation - you have to create it by running CATPERF.SQL from your admin directory.

And also a small correction to Jonathan's note: this view is available also on 8.0 - at least I have it on my 8.0.5 (and it is mentioned in 8.0.4 documentation, so I think it should be in 8.0.4 also).
