Performance Oracle Pro*C 7.3 and 8.0

We have a long running batch job and this modules takes 3 h if I compile it with Oracle 8.0.5.1. The database is also 8.0.5.1.

If I compile this module with 7.3.4 than this module is 10% faster! (with same Oracle 8.0.5.1 database).

Does anyone has an idea why 8.0.5.1 is slower?

I'v analyzed the tkprof output and there is no significant difference. Oracle hotline could not help either. They only mentioned that there might be a problem between SQL*Net 2 and 8.
