SQL Plus Problem

I've just installed Oracle 8.1.5 on a Sun Sparc solaris server and am trying
to connect to it from SQLPlus from a client workstation having just
installed the client software.



When I try and log in I get:



ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist



Can someone please help me sort this out?
