File system: hfs. Hard disks: SCSI.

You are right. We observed that on hpux11.0 datafile creation process is slightly slower under Oracle8 than that under Oracle7. Only on hpux10.20 it becomes so slow that it will take 1 hour to create a 1G datafile.
