Performance tuning Oracle 7.2 vs. 8.04

I replaced on a Win95 client personal oracle from7.2 to Personal Oracle 8.04
(including replication option).


I did not change any of the standard installation (only open_cursors). Now
It looks like that Oracle 8 is slower than Oracle 7.
Does exist any tuning hints?
