Problems Installing Oracle - Help!

I'm trying to install Oracle 8i Enterprise (8.1.5) on Solaris 7.

When I reach 22% in the linking process, an error appears saying:

Error in invoking target install of makefile - followed by the makefile name.

The error comes up for many different makefiles.

I've checked for the existence of the makefiles, set up the environment according to the installation documentation and increased the swap space and /tmp to 800MB.

What on earth could the problem be?

Any help appreciated.
