Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> My first Oracle installation....yup, having problems!
I'm trying to get 8.0.5.1 to run on Linux. I've installed the glibc patch
and ran the installer to create a basic database. The problem is that the
installer bombs when it issues the CREATE DATABASE statement.
The logs are showing ORA-12545, ORA-12546 and ORA-03114. Here's an example:
| Ok: Oracle Server Manager Release 3.0.5.0.0 - Production

It looked to me that the instance wasn't up so I tried to fire up the instance manually with with lsnrctl and start listener. I get:
Message 1070 not found; No message file for product=NETWORK,
facility=TNSTNS-12546: Message 12546 not found; No message file for

Linux Error: 13: Permission denied
I'm not sure what "Permission" was denied.....
