This is a Bug 894410 in oracle database 8i. For OS_ROLES to work on windows NT-

Install Microsoft Management Console version 1.0, or 1.1 (1.1 is recommended).
MMC can be downloaded from Microsoft's web site. The current url is: http://www.microsoft.com/management/mmc Version 1.1 is recommended. MMC 1.1 also requires Microsoft Internet Explorer
version 4.0.

This problem occurs because the Oracle Administration Assistant requires Microsoft Management Console version (MMC) 1.0 or 1.1, and version 4 of Microsoft Internet Explorer. Received on Fri Jul 23 1999 - 09:57:54 CDT
