You cannot give dba role and prevent system level access. The two users, sys and system exist for different reasons. Sys is to protect the data dictionary and low level internals, System is the high level admin account.

To keep users out of the system accounts you must also not allow access to orapwd (orapwd80 on NT) and the Pwd<instance>.ora file. Received on Tue Jul 20 1999 - 07:59:25 CDT
