do I need a consultant ??

I'm not requesting solicitations just yet, however, I'm the only person at this company who knows anything(newbie myself)about Oracle. I'm pretty intimidated because they want me to design and implement a data warehouse for them to support their cash cow service. Based on what I know about the project I think we need a team of experienced people to make this thing fly. If it's do-able and I'm just crying wolf please let me know. Any suggestions from the trenches would be appreciated.
