Hi ,

I am facing a bug in Oracle 7.3.2 and I have almost confirmed with bug reports that it is a bug, but not fully. Because it always doesnt happen.

When I do fast refresh of a snapshot , it fails giving a unique constraint violation if,

  1. The master table records are fully deleted (ALL Records) and reinserted with same key and same values. This , I guess, is because Oracle tries to do a insert intoi the snapshot table before the delete happens from snapshot table. This happens always, even though the unique constraints in master and snapshot table are same(It is a product table in my case and both master and snapshot have unique index on product_num). I successfully deleted and inserted all records(same set of records I re- inserted) into master , but FAST refresh!!!Oh!! It fails always, if I do this trick. Any comments are welcome.

Thanks very much ,
Sanjay.
