The SVMGR30> prompt appears:

svrmgr30> SET INSTANCE S:VMFG
svrmgr30> CONNECT INTERNAL

Note that if you are connecting with SID other than ORCL, you will need to 'set instance s:instance_name'

Chect out the Oracle 8 Getting Started Manual wozi_at_dhc.net
