I have the following problem

I am running an Oracle 8 and Oracle 7 database on a AIX box, off different partions.

i want to know if it is possible to do the following:

Create a script that will fire off when AIX is notified that there UPS has become activated. AIX must then:

  1. braodcast a message to the users
  2. run server manager and shut down the database and kill any sessions that are activated.

Is this possible? If so does anyone have a sample script i could review?
