        Yes, these benchmarks only showed serving up static webpages and that's it, allowing for the IP stack to be the bottleneck, but serving static pages was the ONLY thing that it was doing. This is really sort of unfortunate because I believe the benchmarks would be more useful to me (and others) if they showed multiple things going on such as serving up dynamic pages with database transactions happening in the background.

        I recall a few weeks ago someone released benchmarks howing that NT outperformaned Linux in a file serving situation, but as soon as they started file AND print serving at the same time NT realyl took a performance hit. As well, they said while trying to perform the benchmarks NT was particulary unstable.

        I really wish someone would take it upon themselves to run USEFUL benchmarks one of these days.
