Billy, sorry for splitting hairs on a Friday afternoon,(what with those frosty castle lites wating and all)

but it is not a protocol that does or does not work it is the implementation(more commonly refered to as "the driver").

Whilst the term "protocol" is often used freely when conversations about drivers arise, it is, strictly speaking, incorrect (as such).
