Global Database Architect

 This position is for a Global Omega Database Architect. This person will
 report to the Global Omega Business Analyst Manager. The ideal candidate
 will work with regional data architects / administrators to: insure  Global
 differences in data requirements are reflected in Omega's databases (e.g.,
 currency, date fields); act as the final arbiter to resolve differences of
 opinion; and work with regional DBA's to address performance issues. This
 person will also direct the development of technical and organizational

 specifications for the global Omega system. The Database Architect will

 provide expertise and guides work on complex database systems of great

 scope with advanced technical complexity. The candidate must possess and
 apply advanced knowledge of database principles and practices; have  advanced knowledge of database definition, design, and configuration; have
 knowledge derived from extensive design leadership experiences with  non-traditional database systems; and be regarded as consultant on  database programs and strategies. Seeking a candidate with a Bachelor's
 Degree or equivalent and 10+ years of professional experience or  Master's Degree with 6 or more years experience.

 The technical specs would be a preferred knowledge of SQL or Oracle on  NT (both are used, it depends on region). Front end development is done in
 VB, COM, DCOM, ASP, ActiveX, etc.-knowledge of this would be a great benefit
 but not a must.
