I found the 7.3 -> 8.0 migration tool for NT stinks. I haven't tried it yet, but I'd suggest trying the export/destroy/create new/import approach. And "yes", you can import into a different database blocksize. In fact, that's the only way to *change* the database block size. Test it on your 1.5 Gb and 42 Gb database before going implementing in production, though!
