I am running Windows NT 4.0 and Oracle Enterprise Edition 8.0.5.0.0. I am having a problem when I try to tnsping80 an ip address. I have the default domain world in the sqlnet.ora file. On the server, I am trying to perform a tnsping80 to 127.0.0.1 (Local Loop Back) but, I get a "TNS-03505:Failed to resolve name" error. It works when I do a tnsping80 on tcp-loopback.world but, not when I do a tnsping80 on 127.0.0.1. Here is what I have in the tnsnames.ora file:

Tcp-loopback.world =
  (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =

        (ADDRESS =

(PROTOCOL = TCP)
(Host = 127.0.0.1)
(Port = 1521)
)

    )
    (CONNECT_DATA = (SID = ORCL)
    )
  )
