table privs via roles

Greetings All,

I have exported all of a user's objects from one database. I then created a user of the same name in another database and granted that user connect, resource and dba roles. I then attempted to import the user's objects from the export. All of the views for this new user have errors, I get a message about not being able to create views based on tables where those privs were via roles (or something very close).

I've just read a bit about this in the Oracle DBA handbook, I THINK it suggests that the privilege must be explicitly granted on each table to this new user. What have I missed out? There must be an easy way to "copy" a user from one db to another using exp / imp, I'm sure I've done it before (but not on a Friday afternoon! :) )

Any tips / a kick in the right direction would be helpful,

Thanks in advance

Tony
