I am running Oracle8 Personal Edition in W95. I have gone through a tutorial to
create files, run SQL, etc... Everything is fine except.... whenever I use the
Net8 easy config option and try to test the connection to one of the service
names, I get a failed attempt. Under this option, I selected the
TCPEXAMPLE.WORLD name using the default PRODUCTION1 host name, and 1521 port
with ORCL as the SID. When I run the test, it fails to connect. Why?? Was I
supposed to set up something else. I installed using the standard installation
for the application developer.
