The E 450 has 4 CPU capability while the 3000 inly 2. The L2/L3 cache on the SUN
can be configured - not so on the 3000. Price wise the 3000 would cost half the price of the E 450.
And you can also run Solaris 2.6/2.7/7 or NT on the 3000 while only Solaris on the E 450.
The E 450 is a better faster more expensive machine, but do you really need it?
