Hi There,
This is a very strange and unique problem i have been facing on Oracle 7.3.4 running on NT4.0 with SP4.

The first time Oracle instance is up and running, any query(virtually any simple query) i try executing, takes an enormous amount of time(runs into minutes)...After that, things begin to improve and the system starts responding well for other and more complex queries as well.

I usually tend to use the default Oracle configuration parameters. Machine Details: Pentium II 450Mhz with 128MB RAM and 256MB virtual memory(swap space) and database size of 100 MB.

Any clues???

thanks
ck
