Full export fails... suggestions?

If I attempt a full export as user system against Oracle 8 on Solaris, this is the result:

About to export the entire database ... . exporting tablespace definitions

User exports against 'sys' or 'system' succeed. Is there a straightforward way to identify the offending column? --
