Sun Solaris E4000 (Solaris 2.6) w/ 1.5gb RAM Oracle 8.0.5

DB_BLOCK_SIZE: 8192 (8K)
DB_BLOCK_BUFFERS: 100000
Question:

If this machine is dedicated to Oracle, why wouldn't I want to set the above parameters which would allocate around 800mb for SGA? The previous setting was 5,500 block buffers which works out to 44MB and the system was pitifully slow... Received on Mon May 24 1999 - 14:38:58 CDT
