>I am running the same setup with FailSafe and I am having trouble with
the Backup procedure. How are you doing a cold backup? I have had
trouble with it failing over and it also gives me crash recovery errors
in my alert log. I just find the system very unstable. Sometimes it
shuts down fine and then comes up great and then it doesn't. I need to
know the best way to shut down my services and database without failing
over so I can do a backup to disk and then come up clean. I trying to
do the cold backup through scripts first and then eventually move on to
a utility. I have tried shutdown on the OracleServiceSID and that does
a shutdown abort so I changed the ORA_SHUTDOWN registry item to TRUE
and it still is giving crash recovery errors in the alert log. Even
though it says shutdown immediate in the alert log. I am at my wits
end and would appreciate any help.
