I'm a newbie, trying to get our PHP3 pages (served by IIS3 on NT Server) to interrogate an Oracle 8 DB sitting on my Workstation. The machines are on a TCP/IP LAN. I have read lots of Oracle documentation about Net8, Names Server and Naming schemes, etc, but I am unsure as to how best to configure the setup.

I presume I have to use Net8 in conjunction with Oracle Names servers, but am unsure which Naming resolution to use.

Can someone explain in simple terms what software I should run on the client, and on the server, and what naming resolution I should use. Received on Mon May 17 1999 - 10:35:54 CDT
