Only if you tell me what is the major difference between a green water pistol and AK-74 Assault Rifle - besides that the two share a very vague common shape. :-)

The only thing in common between a flat file and Oracle is that they stored data and that some flat file drivers support limited SQL and some referential integrity. The commonality stops there.

Thus there are no single major difference IMO. The two are -totally- different and used to address -totally- different needs, which make comparing them as useful as comparing the skin of a banana with the husk of a grain of rice. ;-)
