Oracle 8i Enterprise Edition for NT installation problem

Hello,

I've noticed some postings in this newsgroup about installation problems on NT, but alas, these postings are expired, so I can't read them anymore. So maybe I'm asking something here that has just been discussed...

I've just recieved Oracle 8i Enterprise Edition from the OTN. When I try to do a typical install into my default_home, I get (more or less) the next error-messages :
Can not install, because :

1) you don't have administrator rights -> not true
2) insufficient disk-space -> not true
3) you tried to install into an oracle home which was created with an older,
incompatible version of Oracle Installer -> maybe true ?

I'm trying to upgrade from Oracle 8.0.5, which was installed with Oracle Installer. Oracle 8i comes with Oracle Universal Installer. Are those two incompatible ? I find this hard to believe. Has anybody encountered (and solved) this problem yet ?

Thanks a lot,
