I apoligize if I am not supposed to post to this group but I am in need of help on both a professional and personal level. My client is looking for an Oracle Discoverer Guru and to be quite honest with you all, I don't know exactly what it is or where to begin looking for someone. I am enclosing the description for your review. Please let feel free to share your advise and/or refer someone who may be able to help.
The Client is looking for a Decision Support Administrator / Mentor responsible for designing queries and pre-formatted reports as well as stored database procedures for the data warehouse. Responsibilities also include training and developing junior staff to fulfill ongoing decision support needs. Train employees in OLAP tool use and administration. Train employees in decision support query and report design. Design and develop customized queries and complex reports. Participate in selection, evaluating and designing decision support tools. Responsible for the installation, setup, configuration and administration of the query and reporting tools. These tools currently include SPSS, Crystal Reports, and primarily Oracle Discoverer. Either already are or can learn to become an Oracle Discoverer administrator. Responsible for the evaluation and deployment of all other query and reporting tools required. Experience with and a good understanding of Oracle database models. Strong knowledge of SQL. Ability to converse easily with both business-oriented end users as well as less technically experienced staff and train them to be able to use the tools themselves. Ability to work with others as part of a high functioning team. Strong interpersonal skills to work with non- technical people in determining how IMS data can best be utilized to support the diverse data needs, other government agencies, the legislature and the general public.
