seeking OCP advice

 Subject: seeking OCP advice

I am seeking advice on the best route to certification in the DBA track. Technically (by job title) I have been working as a DBA for 3 years, but for the last 18 to 24 months my actual job assignments have been a variety of non-dba (and often non-Oracle) tasks working on infrastructure to support our Oracle databases and c/s and web app development. (About the time I was really getting up to speed, we hired a much more experienced guru, and he has handled all the real dba work since). I have completed the DBA, Backup & Recovery, and SQL*Net classes at Oracle's Atlanta training center, but the completion dates range from 1 year to 2.5 years ago.

Given this background, how feasable would it be to prepare for the tests without going back to the classes? Since I have DBA access to the systems at work (on an NT system) I can get all the hands-on practice I need, but can't see clear for the $10,000+ it would take to attend all the classes again.
