BLOB, JDBC, and JDK1.2 (oh my)

Does anyone know of a JDBC driver that works with the JDK1.2 and can fetch BLOB objects? I can get Oracle's OCI driver to work with BLOBs using the JDK1.1.8. However, when I move to the JDK1.2, the program blows up the Java VM.

I've looked for other drivers, specifically ones that are supposedly JDBC 2.0 compliant, but the 2 I found go through a middleware server that I don't want to deal with.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks,
