ORA-01545:rollback segment specified not available

How can I put the tablespace including the rollback segement back online (it's offline now) if I can't open the database because of the error?

Startup mounts, but won't open because of the unavailable rollback segment. After that, alter database open results in: ORA-00704 - bootstrap process failure/ORA-00705 - inconsistant state during startup: shutdown the instance, then restart it. (shutdown/restart doesn't help)

Help?
