Can I change the current log sequence number ?

As what I understand, When I restore a database with the option of
Recover database using backup controlfile ....
I need to resetlogs .



My questions is can I resetlogs to start with a particular number ?



or is there a way for me to continue apply some backup archive redo logfile
after I have open my database with the resetlogs ?
