I asked the same question of Oracle support, but it was in connection with an
Oracle6 database.
, which is created with one null row per MAXDATAFILES parameter, then updated
(not inserted into) as you add datafiles, so the count remains constant.
Unfortunately, this table does not seem to exist on Oracle7.
