I don't think you'll start an O/S war. You won't find many supporters for NT on an Oracle site. Even from those of us damned to run on it. I run on both Solaris and NT. If you are very careful, you can make 8.04 work on NT. Don't know about 8.05 and I tried a half-hearted attempt at bringing up an 8i instance two weeks ago and backed it out. I have found that if things are going well, things go well. If things have anykind of problem, bad triggers, stored procs that may have problems, things go down hill very quickly. There seems to be problems with PMON and the NT kernel. Be very careful with SP4. There appears to be problems with the tcp/ip stack and with RPC after SP4 goes on.
