Windows (non-NT) had non-preemptive "multitasking" so folks in the Unix world had a legitimate complaint way-back-when. This is no longer true in NT 4.0. NT is as real an OS as Unix, and in some ways is more sophisticated. For example, it security model is obviously a generation ahead of Unix (but a bear to administer, esp. if it needs to coexist with a Unix environment).

A more legitimate concern is NT's scalability...
