A few comments:
NT is not ready for production. Don't do it. Unix on RISC System/6000 may seem cheap at first but as you scale, it will cost you a fortune.
Solaris can scale pretty well so you could start with a cheaper box and upgrade as required. I personally am a Sun bigot. HP is reliable but performance is not so great. Hence their offer to give you hardware for a piece of the action. Really, you should profile your application to determine the type of architecture that is best suited for it. Then see which vendor best meets that spec. Also, you don't mention disks. EMC, Network app, Solid state devices, OEM what?

Also, you could contact each of the vendors and ask them for their opinion on how you should size and architect your solution. They each have competentcy centers.
