Does anyone know of ANY reported problems with this older verion of Oracle's SQLNet and the multinet (the more recent Y2K patched version) referred to? It is on an OpenVMS 6.2 Vax system. I know there is a UCX compatible flag for use the Oracle 7.3.X, but that does not seem to resolve the problem I have.

I have tried to relink telling Oracle to use UCX as opposed to multinet, with Multinet in UCX emulation, with no luck. I am going to try a pure 'Multinet/Multinet' option later this evening.

Other systems in attempting (w/ SQLPlus) to connect get

ERROR: ORA-12203: TNS:unable to connect to destination

but I can ping it w/out a problem.

TNSPING gives

$ tnsping WAHOOVAX713

TNS Ping Utility for HPUX: Version 2.3.2.1.0 - Production on 26-APR-99 15:54:25

Copyright (c) Oracle Corporation 1995. All rights reserved.

Attempting to contact (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=wahoo)(PORT=1521)) TNS-12541: TNS:no listener

But one is started on the server, and does not report a problem. Received on Mon Apr 26 1999 - 14:55:14 CDT
