Oracle8i for Linux: What is it compiled against?

Is Oracle8i compiled against GLibc-2.1 and kernel 2.2?  Or is it compiled
against normal libc5 and the older 2.0 kernel?  I would hope it would be
compiled against the latest C library and Linux kernel, because that would
give optimal performance...
