Hi Simon,

I can start the node manager as user 'oradba' but I have to be user 'root' to start the orb processes. Try running "owsctl start" as root or whoever is the owner of file resources.ora which on my system is located at
$ORAWEB_HOME/../../orb/4.0/admin/resources.ora

I'm using Sun Solaris; you don't say what O/S you are using.
