Re: Internal Oracle Error ORA-00600

There could be many reasons for this error. Send a copy of your ALERT log to oracle, based on the number you get along with the internal error, they will be able to give a precise answer. If this error is on NT, Then try the following. - See if your NT Server is configured as PDC, OR BDC. (Do not configure it). - Check your service pack. You should use only service pack 3 with ver7.3.4 or higer. - Find out if your backup program/device/software are compatible with Oracle. Note:- If this error persist, then it will give you a PMON failure and shutdown your database either during backup or during peak transaction hour.
