Oracle 8 Archivelog error

Hello

Here I come ... again. I have a little problem with my Archivelog mode turned on. I created a separate volume ARCHIVE on my Novell NetWare 5 for archiving purposes (1 GB). When I turned on ARCHIVELOG MODE, I received a complex of error messages stateing:

Oracle Instance BPSC - Archival Error

ORA-00255: error archiving log 2 of thread 1, sequence # 1739
ORA-00312: online log 2 thread 1: "here is a path to my log on sys:"
ORA-00312: online log 2 thread 1: "here is a path to my log on data:"
ORA-00334: archived log: "ARCHIVE:BPSC001S01739.ARC"
ORA-00270: error creating archive log : "ARCHIVE:BPSC001S01739.ARC"
ORA-19504: failed to create file : "ARCHIVE:BPSC001S01739.ARC"
ORA-09200: sfccf: error creating file
OSD-02070: unable to create file (OS 1)

It is strange, because in the documentation states that this error could ocure when there is not enought space on disk. But I have an 1 GM volume.
Please help...
